Dell 1600n - Save Time With Easy To Use Instructions

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

The Dell 1600n is a modern multifunction laser printer. It consists of an integrated 22ppm laser printer, a scanner that scans very clearly and can be used as a flatbed, or in adf mode; the adf platform is removable and this lets you scan thicker documents that fit into an 8.5×11 letter size to be scanned, such as books and small objects. The Dell 1600n toner is great, too.

The software and drivers support a network for printing and scanning this definitely makes the value of this Dell 1600n printer. Dell has taken the most wanted features of an all in one device and put them together into one low priced unit. The specs and features are perfect for use in a home office; it has a good look to it, and works quite well. The Dell 1600n toner is equivalent in price to most printer ink, and can be purchased in black and white or color. It also lasts longer than a regular ink cartridge.

The Dell 1600n is more compact than most laser all in one printers. The front panel on the case has buttons for all of the common functions, and the buttons are divided into sections; the copy section has controls that allow you to select the contrast, quality, and size of your copies. The fax section has buttons that set the resolution, open the internal phone book, start a fax, or redial. Color faxes can be sent but not received.

The Dell 1600n comes with an easy to read and understand manual. The machine itself is quite easy to learn as the interface is well set up with buttons that are clearly marked for the functions that they are meant to do. The printer is set up with many easy to use one touch functions, so the learning curve is quite simple.

The Dell 1600n comes with a 250 sheet paper drawer that is at the bottom of the printer. There is space for an optional 250 sheet paper tray which increases the total paper amount to 500 sheets. This gives the machine the ability to expand for a larger output to meet the needs of a growing business. This is a nice feature to have.

The Dell 1600n has a built in web server which uses standard html and permits all configurations that you could do via USB or via front panel. The printer will automatically apply the correct interpretation for the arriving data. The print engine is rated at 22 ppm; the output by and large is quite fast. The 1600n comes with 32MB of memory and can be increased to a maximum of 160MB.

The scanner and output are fast, and only take around 10 seconds from pressing the copy button to the first copy, and under 5 seconds for the next copy. You need no warm up time when you fire up this computer. Once you scan a document, you can either save it to the computer as a file, or to e-mail, to an optical character recognition program, or as an image.
